About Miami Beach Chess.

Miami Beach Chess helps students and families throughout Miami learn chess, build confidence, and enjoy the game. Our focus is K–12 scholastic chess, with coaching also welcoming teens and adults.

Chess offers practice in critical thinking, patience, concentration, problem-solving, decision-making, and sportsmanship. We value understanding and personal growth, not just the result of a game.

Valerio Anderson is the founder and chess coach behind Miami Beach Chess. He has a 2100 rating, 5+ years of coaching experience, and was formerly the #1-ranked K–12 scholastic chess player in Arizona.

His coaching encourages students to understand chess rather than simply memorize moves, think independently, and learn from their mistakes.
